I am excited to be here as the new Band Director at LHSW!  It's going to be a great and exciting year!!  Below is a little bit about me.

Paul Martin is beginning his first year as Director of Bands at Life High School-Waxahachie.  Prior, he was the Director of Bands at Stephen F. Austin Middle School in Bryan, TX.  He also assisted with Bryan High School, mainly during marching season.  Bryan High School Band participated in the UIL State Marching Contest in 2017 for the first time in school history.  Mr. Martin helped build a brand new $40 million middle school campus with new band hall along with the $5 million renovation progress on the Bryan ISD Performing Arts Center.  He was also the districts middle school band coordinator, which he was in charge of curriculum and recruitment for over 800 students.

Prior to Bryan ISD, Mr. Martin was the Director of Bands at Lake Country Christian School from 2011-2016 where he built one of the top band programs in the state in all of public & private schools.  His bands earned consistent sweepstakes, numerous students making the All-Region and All-State Bands, placed 3rd at State Marching Contest, and concert selections in 2016 made it to the state finals (top 8) for ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series Honor Band selection.  He also served on the TAPPS State Music Committee, TPSMEA Middle School Region Coordinator, and helped create the TAPPS Drumline & Marching Band Contests.

Mr. Martin is an active clinician for both marching and concert bands.  He travels across the state judging contests of all levels and is also a mentor for many educators.  His marching technique packet is widely used across the state of Texas.  In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, Univ of Texas Football, watching netflix, eating gluten free, and a BBQ fanatic!  He is happily married to his wife of over 4 years, Kristin, who works in downtown Dallas.
